Georgia Wins! College Football Playoff National Championship

Updated: Jan 14, 2022

Alabama vs. Georgia. A few nights ago we had the National Championship of college football. Georgia came in with a higher favorite than Alabama on ESPN. The game started out very slow, and at the end of the half, the score was only 9-6, Bama on top. Both offenses were slowed down. Both teams had just only scored field goals. Alabama was missing their best wide receiver, John Metchie due to a Torn ACL, and during the middle of the game, Jameson Williams got hurt on a 30-yard reception, after buckling his knee in an attempt to juke he left the game and never came back. After the game reports came out the Jameson had sadly torn his ACL. As we went into the 4th quarter, the score was only 13-9, Dawgs on top. The Dawgs were able to score 20 points in the 4th quarter. Georgia was able to establish the running game and break free on some big plays. Stetson Bennett threw for 17/26 for 224 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. However, Bryce Young threw for 35/57 for 369 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions in the loss. Georgia was up 26-18 and there was just 1 minute and 8 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Alabama was trying to drive down the field and get a touchdown and a 2 point conversion to tie the game until Bryce Young underthrew his receiver Traeshon Holden and threw an interception to Georgia CB Keele Ringo, Ringo ended up returning this for a touchdown ultimately taking away all hope from the Tide. The final score for this game was 33-18. Honestly, I think that part of the Crimson Tide's loss was due to the lack of receivers. Since Alabama's top receivers were injured, they had to go with their backups who were less experienced and didn't know how to run the routes as well. Bryce Young tried throwing many deep 50/50 balls but they could not be caught because of a lack of receivers. The Tide were also missing their 2 top CB's to their secondary was messed up. This game was incredible to watch and congratulations to the Georgia Bulldogs on their spectacular season!
